Details
Meaning: The name of a famous Moroccan Writer from the Rif Mountains.
Material: Real Moroccan natural leather, Berber Jbala shawl.
Description: The Jbala are a tribe of the Riff Mountains in Northern Morocco, They traditionally wear what’s called: Mendil, which is a type of skirt/apron that they wrap around their waist and secure it via a cotton/wool belt.
Symbology: Just like the Ait Atta in the south, Jbala women wear the stripes corresponding to their tribe. So when they are hanging around the markets and special occasions, men would recognize the women from their tribe.
Water is a very important element to Jbala, which is why we chose a shape that resembles the container they use to fetch water from wells.
