Meaning: Tarik ben Ziad was a berber general who invaded Spain in 711

Material: Real Leather, Vintage Berber Zayan Hanbel, Vintage Berber Jewelry.

Description: Hanbel is made through a flat-weave process whereby the weaver threads the weft back and forth through the wrap until the rug or pillow is finished.

Symbology: Such a unique Hanbel with a prolific presence of male elements taking center stage and filling all the female elements as well.

The central bands are designed using the zigzag symbol filled with parmakli, both of witch are considered male elements. The weaver used the available area around the zigzag to introduce diamonds (female elements suggesting a wish for fertility).

The rest of the bands are populated with diamonds surrounded with parmalki.

To the top and bottom of the Hanbel, there are male protective/virility symbols (chevrons and straight lines).

The weaver added an extra element for protection from the evil eye: Sequins.
