The Hidden Tribe
Material: Real Moroccan leather, Chawary made of Zmmour Hanbel, sequins, and silk fringes.
Description: Hanbel is made through a flat-weave process whereby the weaver threads the weft back and forth through the wrap until the rug or pillow is finished.
Symbology: Chwary is about projecting a social status and protecting the person riding the horse. Thus the presence of several protective elements such as the sequins (they are tiny mirror that reflect negative thoughts away from the owner) and silk fringes ( a way to distract the intruding eye).
Underneath the fringes there is a proliferation of diamonds (symbol of women’s fertility) surrounded with hatched lines and straight lines (symbols of men’s virility).
